Privacy Policy

Effective

The short version: Sibun keeps your study data on your iPhone. There is no account, no advertising, no analytics or tracking SDK, and we do not sell data.

What stays on your device

Your goals, study sessions, notes, review cards, settings and the share cards you make are stored on your iPhone, in the app’s own storage. They are not sent to us or to anyone else. Sibun does not sync with iCloud yet; if that changes, we will update this policy and tell you here before it does.

Deleting Sibun from your iPhone deletes this data. Backups of your iPhone that iOS makes (to iCloud or to a computer) can include app data; those backups are controlled by you and Apple, not by us.

Purchases and RevenueCat

Sibun Pro is sold through the App Store. Apple processes the payment, and we never see your card or payment details.

To check what you have bought, to unlock Pro features, and to give us aggregate sales reports (for example, how many free trials turn into subscriptions), Sibun uses RevenueCat, a purchase-management service. RevenueCat receives:

We do not give RevenueCat your name, email address or any account details (Sibun has no accounts), and we never send it anything about what you study. Like any online service, RevenueCat’s servers may also handle technical data that comes with an internet request, such as an IP address. How RevenueCat handles data is described in RevenueCat’s Privacy Policy.

Notifications

Sibun’s notifications are local: they are scheduled on your iPhone and do not come from a server. They are:

You can turn them off in iOS Settings; some also have a switch in Sibun’s settings.

Photos

When you save a share card to your photo library, Sibun asks for add-only access to Photos. It can add images you created, and it cannot read, list or change the photos you already have.

What we do not do

This website (sibun.app) does not use cookies, analytics or any third-party requests.

Children

Sibun is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Your rights (GDPR and CCPA)

Depending on where you live, including in the EU, UK and California, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of personal data about you, and to object to or restrict its use. Almost all of your Sibun data lives only on your device, where you control it. The one record about you that we can look up is your purchase record at RevenueCat, which is tied to the anonymous ID. To ask for access to it or for its deletion, email hello@sibun.app; we may ask for details such as the Apple order number from your purchase receipt so we can find the record, and we aim to reply within one month. We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We will not treat you differently for using these rights. Purchase records that Apple keeps are governed by Apple’s privacy policy.

For people in the EU and UK (GDPR): we process purchase data on the basis of contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) to unlock the Pro features you bought, and on the basis of legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) to produce aggregate sales reports. RevenueCat processes this data in the United States under its data processing addendum, which includes Standard Contractual Clauses for transfers from the EEA. Purchase records are kept for as long as they are needed for your purchases, or until you ask us to delete them. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the effective date above. If a change affects what leaves your device, we will say so here before it takes effect.
